✨How To Make Our New Year's Resolutions Stick✨

It’s 2019.
With a New Year comes New Year’s Resolutions and when it comes to making these resolutions often times we bite off more than we can chew.

In fact, over 80% of people fail to stick to their resolutions and have quit by the second week of February.

So what can we do to stick with our New Year’s resolutions?

1. Identify

Identify the habit you want to change and the why. If you don’t have a reason for wanting to change you’re less likely to stick with it.

2. Start Small, Be Specific

Start with small goals that are specific. Instead of having a New Year’s Resolution of, I’m going to start working out, have a determined workout to do and a planned schedule for when you’ll do it.

3. Use Will, Not Should

When you start to question whether you should or shouldn’t stick to the plan we give ourselves a way out. Continue to tell yourself you will do it and you most likely will.

4. Start With One

A lot of us have 3+ Resolutions and we get overwhelmed, we struggle with one and then eventually they all come tumbling to the ground. Start with one Resolution and then once you have made it into a habit, start your second one.

5. Accountability.

If you tell yourself you’re going to start saving money, eating healthier, working out more but don’t tell anyone, who is going to know if you stop? Sharing with friends and family members your New Year’s Resolutions keeps you accountable and provides you a support system.
